Todd Halvorson – 12u/14u Girl’s Coach
Todd Halvorson has been coaching with 680 Water Polo since its inception. Before that, he coached both high school and club polo in the area. Currently Todd oversees and coaches the 12U & 14U Girls Water Polo. In addition to his head coaching roles with 680, he is also the Women’s Assistant Coach on Team USA Development National Team and the Head coach of the Pacific Zone 8th Grade and Under Girls Olympic Development Program.
2013 was a spectacular year for Todd’s 12U & 14U teams. His 14U girls team not only finished 1st at the prestigious National Junior Olympics Tournament and were crowned National Champions but also took 1st at The California State Cup Tournament. Not to be out done, his 12U girls team took 3rd at State Cup, 2nd at US Club Championships and won the Bronze Medal at the 2013 National Junior Olympics.
Todd has coached in every major national club and high school tournament and his teams have medaled in them all as well. As a high school coach he won 5 North Coast Section Championship Titles and 6 EBAL League Titles. In his 10 years coaching high school he has sent 3 players on to play in the Olympics.
In 2003 Todd was awarded Coach of the Year by the Contra Costa Times Newspaper, in 2006 he was awarded Volunteer Coach of the Year by USA Water Polo and most recently in 2013 he was awarded the National Development Coach of the Year given out by USA Water Polo to the top age group coach in the nation.
His 12U & 14U teams continually finish in the top tier of every tournament and rank as one of the top age group teams in the Nation. Coach Todd not only knows how to win but 95% of his age group players go on to play varsity level water polo at their respective high schools. He currently lives in San Ramon with his wife Hillary and two children, Drew and Dylan.
